Subject:Looking for a specific quote

Somewhere in the episode where Mike and Gloria were moving to California. He called it the land of fruits and nuts. So true today.

I remember something Archie said, but I think it may have been from the spinoff "Archie Bunker's Place." It was something like this... "Sometimes, you gotta put the constitution to one side and do what you're told." Wish I could find a clip of this somewhere!

I'm sorry, I don't know which episodes those came from. The full quotes are:

"The Bible, if ya read it you'd know. It's right in the beginning there, in the Book of Generous.

Does anyone remember the exact wording Archie uses for the saying, "In vino veritas", ("In wine there is truth.")?
I believe it was something like, "In vinyl vareedas, dere".
Can you help?
Thank you!

Yes, it was in the episode "Gloria Suspects Mike" and Archie said "'In vinyl veritas' as the ancient Jews was always saying."

Subject:These don't make sense

"Ya don't have to soft soap me." Aside from "Ya," it's a legitimate expression. He probably meant "soft-soap" because "soft soap" (in the sense of flattery) is a noun.

"I'm out there everyday amongst them, in the smelting pot of New York." "Smelting" is obviously wrong, and Archie isn't likely to know when to use "everyday" and when to use "every day," but you can't tell he made that mistake by listening to him.

From the aluminum siding episode, I like--
"does a rabbit like another rabbit?"

Subject:Looking For the Episode Where...

Archie goes to kiss Edith on the lips and Archie backs away from her after the kiss and yells at her; "why don't you pucker up! I kissed nothing but teeth." I may be paraphrasing, and I hope you can help me out with this one. Thanks...
